Adam Surtees

Director and Protection Adviser

Your Role at Affinity Advice

Every day, my primary focus revolves around training and guiding the team, while also providing service to the clients I've built relationships with over my years in the industry. In my advisory role, I specialise in life insurance, critical illness cover, and income protection. At Affinity Advice, every team member plays a crucial role, and my particular emphasis lies in shaping the overall strategy and future of the business. I consider my clients not just as clients but as friends, going above and beyond for each one of them. This personalised approach is something I take pride in and is a key part of my professional ethos.

What's the best thing about your job or working at Affinity Advice?

The most rewarding aspect of my work is undoubtedly the people I get to meet – it's a 100% highlight for me. A close second is the bittersweet moment when a client receives a claim payout. While it's often under somber circumstances, there's deep satisfaction in knowing I've done a proper job when a client's mortgage gets paid off by an insurer due to illness.

Now for the personal part…tell us about you

I absolutely love going on holidays with my partner, trying out new restaurants and new experiences - I’ll try anything once! Similar to some of the team, I love spending quality time playing golf. In my pre-Affinity Advice life, I was deep into the world of numbers as a chartered accountant. Ozzy, my four-legged buddy, is a constant source of joy and companionship in my life. Looking ahead, I've got a golfing dream – teeing off at Sawgrass is definitely on my bucket list. I also can't wait to catch up with friends down under in Australia and explore even more countries along the way. Life's an adventure, and I'm making the most of every moment!
